Updated new and rich features and ready to run out of the box
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Smith & Wesson Brands, Inc. (NASDAQ Global Select: SWBI), a leader in firearm manufacturing and design, today released the new Volunteer™ Series of modern sporting rifles. There are four tiers of rifles; Volunteer XV, Volunteer XV OR, Volunteer XV PRO, and Volunteer XV DMR.
The Volunteer XV is equipped with a B5 Bravo adjustable stock, as well as a B5 pistol Grip, which provides a steeper grip angle delivering optimal trigger finger alignment. The trigger is a flat-faced, single-stage design that provides a clean, crisp break. The forend is a Bravo Company handguard with M-LOK® slots to add accessories.
The Volunteer XV OR has all the standard Volunteer XV line features but comes with a low-profile Picatinny mount gas block, which provides the end-user with an unobstructed sight picture.
The Volunteer XV PRO is equipped with a mid-length gas system that provides a smooth recoil cycle. The forend has a 15” free-floated handguard equipped with M-LOK slots for accessory mounting as close to the muzzle end of the firearm as possible. The barrel has a 1:8 twist rate with 5R rifling and has a Primary Weapon Systems (PWS) muzzle brake on the end to help mitigate recoil and muzzle flip. The XV PRO is equipped with a B5 pistol grip and includes a B5 Sopmod stock that provides an optimal cheek weld for the user and storage for batteries or other components.
The Volunteer XV DMR comes with all the features included on the PRO but with some additional enhancements. The DMR model comes with a 20” barrel with a threaded, target-crowned barrel completed with a PWS muzzle brake. The DMR also runs a rifle-length gas system, providing a reliable and accurate platform for longer distance shots.
The MSRP on the new Volunteer XV series is $1,049 to $1,599. To learn more, click here.
