Taurus launched the GX2 with a tagline: “Affordable Doesn’t Mean Cheap.” Customers came back with one request, and this is the answer.
Taurus USA’s Caleb Giddings walks Ryan Gresham through the GX2 TORO — Taurus Optics Ready Option — which takes a Shield RMSc footprint optic directly on the slide. No adapter plate involved: you back out the slide cover plate screws and reuse those same screws, which seats the optic low enough to co-witness the factory irons. Everything that made the original GX2 work carries over — 13 rounds, manual safety, the same striker-fired trigger as the GX4 Carry, and a grip that doesn’t feel like the place they cut the corner. MSRP is still under $300.
