The company has been putting out well-regarded cans for years, and Dead Air's current lineup reflects a clear understanding that hunters, duty users, and general shooters all have different needs. Here's how each of the three stacked up.
This one came out of a partnership between Dead Air and Ruger, and it shows in the design. The RXD 910 Ti is a 9mm can built around the Ruger RXM platform, but it's rated for significantly more than just 9mm. You can run it on 5.7, 10mm, 300 Blackout, and 400 Legend, which makes it a genuinely versatile option for anyone running multiple handgun or pistol caliber carbine platforms.
It's titanium, which keeps the weight down to a point where the balance on the gun stays comfortable. Ports at the front of the can help manage back pressure, and the overall design is clean and well-thought-out. For a pistol suppressor, it checks most of the boxes you'd want checked.
The CT5P is a different animal. Where the RXD prioritizes lightweight versatility, the CT5P is built around durability and duty-grade reliability. It's full-auto rated, shorter in profile, and engineered specifically around the AR platform.
Two things stand out here. First, minimal point of impact shift when you mount it — something that matters a lot if you're zeroing a gun and expect it to stay zeroed when the can goes on and comes off. Second, reduced muzzle flash even on short barrel rifles. For anyone running an SBR or a shorter duty carbine at night, that flash suppression capability is a genuine operational advantage.
On the range, Chris Cerino put the CT5P on a carbine with a red dot and hit a steel plate at 100 yards dead center on the first shot. Minimal point of impact shift wasn't just a marketing claim — it held up under actual shooting conditions.
The Nomad Ti is one of Dead Air's flagship hunting cans — lightweight at around 10.5 ounces, titanium construction, quiet and effective on bolt guns. The OTB version adds something interesting: over-the-barrel mounting.
If you've ever put a suppressor on a traditional hunting rifle and been frustrated by how much overall length it adds, the OTB configuration is the answer. By extending back over the barrel rather than forward from the muzzle, the Nomad Ti OTB saves approximately four to four and a half inches of overall rifle length while maintaining the same internal volume that makes it effective.
The practical result is a suppressed hunting rifle that doesn't feel like you welded a pipe to the end of it. The balance stays reasonable, the weight stays manageable, and the sound reduction is still there. Chris Cerino ran it on a short .308 AR and described the experience as exactly what you'd want — quiet, minimal impact shift, and a mounting system that uses a box-end three-quarter wrench with no risk of marring or slipping.
All three cans were shot on camera, and the differences were immediately apparent. The RXD 910 Ti on a pistol was notably quiet — Chris Cerino could hear bullets slapping the mud at 100 yards after the shot. The CT5P on the carbine delivered a dead-center hit with what he called a "really cool" shooting experience. The Nomad Ti OTB on the short .308 produced a genuinely impressed reaction on camera, which is probably the most honest review you can get.
Quiet, minimal impact shift, and a mounting system with no risk of marring or slipping — exactly what you'd want from a suppressed hunting rifle.
Dead Air has built a lineup that covers a lot of ground without feeling like any individual can is a compromise. The RXD 910 Ti is a solid versatile pistol can, the CT5P is a no-nonsense duty suppressor, and the Nomad Ti OTB is a genuinely smart solution for hunters who want suppressed capability without sacrificing the handling of their rifle.
If you're in the market for a suppressor and any of these use cases sound familiar, all three are worth serious consideration. Watch the full episode above, or catch it anytime on Shooting Sports Life at shootingsportslife.com.
