Top 5 Micro-Carry Guns
When concealing firearms maintaining comfort is the biggest problem encountered. Our bodies continually shift, whether from getting in and out of vehicles or simple, day-to-day movements. The growing trend in concealability is micro pistols. After carrying a micro, there’s no turning back. It’s time to ride the concealed-carry comfort train.
Kimber Micro 9 Nightfall (DN)
Col. Jeff Cooper got it right with the 1911, and Kimber perfected the micro-1911. Featuring a Hogue Wraparound grip and smooth trigger pull, the Micro 9 Nightfall tucks away yet maintains a low profile. Kimber added TRUGLO TFX Pro day/night sights to give shooters a clear aim point no matter the time of day. For me, the smooth 1911 trigger and feel outweigh the limited capacity of ammunition. This isn’t like most guns of this size. I don’t feel like I’m handling a monster with excess recoil to go around. BUY HERE
Sig Sauer P365
Let’s continue to discuss this one. We love the size, ammo capacity and feel of the P365. However, what I don’t hear a bunch of folks talking about is the accuracy. It flat-out shoots. Recoil is manageable, which produces better accuracy. Now, if we can just find one in stock. BUY HERE. Be prepared to wait.
Smith & Wesson M&P Bodyguard 380
But it’s a 380…so? If I asked if you’d rather be shot with a 9mm or a 380 I hope you’d say neither. Compact and sleek, the M&P BODYGUARD 380 delivers personal protection in an easy-to-carry, comfortable platform. Add a Crimson Trace Laser to the M&P Bodyguard 380 and precision is no problem. A standard on any list like this, the G43 is a single-stack legend. As far a comfort is concerned, shooters forget the gun is there. The tiny G43 tolerates the same torture tests all its bigger brothers in the GLOCK pistol family withstand, so you know durability comes standard. I love the feel of the G43 because it is simply a scaled down version of my G19. The transition shooting between the two is effortless. BUY HERE
Kimber Micro Raptor
Don’t judge me. Yes, Kimber got two onto this list, and you’ll probably be upset if your favorite didn’t make it. The Micro Raptor is a mini-1911 in 380 ACP. Talk about a comfort to conceal and shoot. It comes with tritium night sights and a match-grade trigger. The gun, much like the others, is comfortable to shoot. BUY HERE
We’ve had small guns on the show that were a bear to hold onto when pressing the trigger. Comfort is king when discussing concealable pistols, but they must be shootable. When a life or death situation comes calling, a gun that I’m confident shooting takes precedence. ~ KJ
