6.23.16: Nationals, then Rio, for USA Shooting - This Week on Tom Grehsam's Gun Talk Radio
Mandeville, LA - We're talking two big competitions in the word of amateur shooting sports with the USA Shooting Team, and more, this week on Tom Gresham's Gun Talk® Radio, the original nationally-syndicated radio talk show about guns and the shooting sports.
Jessica Delos Reyes, of USA Shooting, visits with Tom this week with the latest from the 2016 USA Shooting National Championship for Rifle/Pistol (USASNC) in Fort Benning, GA, going on from June 23rd to June 29th. "More than 300 athletes will be vying for National Team selections and, for some, preparing for the upcoming Olympic & Paralympic Games in Rio. Even still, there are many going to this year's Nationals with their eyes set on Tokyo 2020", says USA Shooting. "This year's Nationals represents the opportunity for those Rio-bound athletes to get another training competition in ahead of their Olympic and Paralympic appearance, while giving other athletes the chance to establish or re-establish their national ranking with a new Olympic push ready to get underway." After Nationals, it's almost time to leave for Rio, as many of their team members will be flying out on July 27th to compete in the 2016 Summer Olympics.
