Trigger the Deals™ with GunDealio™

Boy! Have we ever been working hard to get something really cool to you. It was going to take only eight weeks, and we started in December. Riiiight! But, it's done, and it works, and it's cool, and it's going to save you money. I said, it will SAVE YOU MONEY!

It's a smartphone app we call GunDealio™. (As in, what's the dealio?) First off, it's free. It's available for the iPhone and Android phones. It's what it does that's so sweet. It gives you news about the latest promotions from manufacturers and stores -- you know -- the discounts, rebates, mail-in extras like magazines or range bags, or instant $ off your purchase. It's for guns, ammo, optics, and all things about guns.

GunDealio starts working the minute you load it and set it up. But, it's a lot more than a list of deals (although it does have those, and we update the list constantly). When you first load up GunDealio, it asks if you want to allow notifications. You absolutely DO. Here's why. The geolocation feature knows when you enter a gun store, and then you're likely to get an alert to a special deal or notice. Naturally, you can take advantage of it or not, but at least you'll know about it. Also, if there's something special going on in your area, such as a "dealer day" at a local store where a gun maker has special deals, we'll shoot you a notification to let you know.

But wait! There's more!!! With GunDealio, you can watch our gun videos on your phone, listen to GUNTALK Radio (including the After Show), and even find local shooting events.

** I need your help. We need to get out the word on GunDealio. I'm sure you're going to love it. Heck, it's got gun info, and it saves you money. Everyone who works in a gun store should have it so he or she can let customers know about the deals available. But, we need to let everyone know, so I'm asking that after you try it out, let your friends know. Post it to your favorite online gun sites. I really appreciate it.

Our tagline for GunDealio is "Trigger The Deals™." Why would you pay more for guns and ammo than you have to? Get GunDealio at

New Seasons of GUNTALK and Guns & Gear!

GUNTALK and Guns & Gear are running again, with all new shows for this season. For the rest of the year, you can catch them on Pursuit Channel - DirectTV Ch. 604, DISH Network Ch. 393, and on their own channel on ROKU devices.

Plus, after each episode runs, we load it to YouTube, where you can see it on our channel ( Be sure to check out the first show of the season for GUNTALK, which was the first-ever Ladies-Only 3-Gun Championship, sponsored by Brownells. Great story. This week's episode features a deserving veteran whose wife nominated him for a day of training with Chris Cerino. What Joseph didn't know was that while he was at the range, we were sneaking into his house (with the help of his wife) and installing a huge Liberty Safe gun safe, stocked with ammo, and even a Ruger Scout Rifle! Wait until you see his reaction when we surprised him!

GUNTALK airs on Mondays at 8:00 AM Eastern, Wednesdays at 12:30 PM ET, Fridays at 9:30 PM ET, and Sundays at 1:00 AM ET.

Guns & Gear airs on Mondays at 8:30 AM Eastern, Wednesdays at 2:30 PM ET, Fridays at 10:30 PM ET, and Sundays at 1:30 AM ET.

Both shows will be back on Sportsman Channel in January 2016.

Wanna Get Attacked?

Speaking of nominations, we're a few weeks away from shooting the third season of First Person Defender, our online series about self defense. We put people into scenarios (parking garage, ATM robbery, home invasion, etc.), and see how they react. We use Simunition training cartridges (they make marks on clothing, and they STING.) Then we train that person at the range, and follow that with another scenario they have to fight through. It's fun; it's exciting; it's actually good training; and you'll be on the TV show. Check out last season of FPD here:

We'll be shooting the show in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in August. If you want to be considered for this, send us some info on yourself, including a photo and your background with guns. You can be a total beginner or someone who has been to a number of gunfighting schools. We'll match the scenario to the person. We need men, women, and even youngsters. Send an email to, with the subject line of FPD S3.

It's Summer. It's Hot. Don't Leave Protection Behind.

Yes, it's hot. Yes, you are wearing shorts and T-shirts. I know it's harder to conceal your pistol. But... the situation has not changed. Bad people are there. Everywhere. Adjust what you wear, how you wear it, and even what you carry.

If you usually carry inside the waistband (IWB), you can still do that. Wear a T-shirt that's tucked in, and then wear a button-up shirt over that, but keep it untucked and unbuttoned. That works great when it's casual.

You may want a more discreet gun for carry. Sometimes I carry the Ruger LCP in a back pocket holster that looks like a wallet. No one ever notices, and I still have a gun I can get to quickly. With cargo shorts, you can carry a hammerless revolver in the front pocket or maybe in one of the cargo pockets. Use a sleeve-type holster to protect the gun as well as to mask the shape, so it doesn't "print" through your clothes.

Maintain your commitment to protect yourself and your family. Trouble has a way of popping up where you least expect it -- even on the beach.
