The "Would You" Poem from TheHighRoad.us forum
Okay, okay, I give. A number of people have asked where they can find that poem I read on the air about shooting a wolfe, so here it is. This came about in a thread at The High Road started by Gun Week Senior Editor Dave Workman. He asked if people would shoot a wolf that was threatening. Pretty much everyone said yes, but a member there who uses the screen name Catspa posted this takeoff on Dr. Seuss. I like the creativity, and the sentiment. ~ Tom Gresham "Would you shoot one on a stump? Would you shoot one at the dump? If a wolf attacked your wife, would you shoot to save her life? Would you shoot it off a log, to protect your little dog? If you carry in the wild, would you shoot to save your child? Seeing fangs as sudden danger would you shoot to help a stranger? Some have faced the mortal threat who came prepared - they're with us yet. Others choose to go unarmed and hope that they'll return unharmed. A few have failed nature's test and entered their eternal rest. So fellows, I suggest today you bring a pistol on your way. That's my advice if you care to heed it - You never know just when you'll need it."
